FAQ'S

Car Parking?

Where do I check in?

Please can all club participants avoid parking at the centre as their limited number of car spaces are reserved for centre customers and the rowing club. The centre has given us permission to use their overflow parking area which is ‘Whitbread Car Park’ located next to the beefeater/premier inn on Quays Road (next to the centre). As you drive in, the car park is on the left-hand side. If you park here, you MUST go into the Watersports reception to scan a QR code to register your car for free parking, failure to do this step may result in a fine which neither ourselves or the centre can control.

One of our team will be located outside of the watersports centre, we’ll check you in and then you can go and get changed or hire a wetsuit from the centre’s reception.

Do I need to be able to swim?

All participants taking part in the water need to be able to swim at least 50m in deep water. Salford Quays is deep water, and it is unsafe for non-swimmers to enter. Whilst we will work on building water confidence, we do not teach people how to swim.

What facilities are there?

Our participants can use the Salford Watersports Centre’s facilities during our session time, this includes changing rooms and toilets. Please follow all rules set by the centre. There are both male and female changing rooms and toilets, there are also two individual accessible changing rooms / toilets. These are open to the centre customers and occasionally the public. Please ensure that any under 16’s are appropriately supervised by a parent or guardian when outside of the session, this includes registration and changing pre and post session.

Do I need a membership?

No, our sessions are available to non-members. If you want to gain qualifications and progress through the RLSS award schemes, then you will need to purchase an annual membership of £10.
